Colombia, the world’s second-largest flower exporter, has over 10,000 hectares of flower production in Cundinamarca and Antioquia. This rapidly evolving sector cultivates more than 1,500 varieties and generates over $2.3 billion in exports.
Last week marked a new step in the digitization of irrigation at a 10-hectare flower farm, with technology integrator OdinS carrying out the first phase of the project:
✅ Technical visit and requirements assessment
✅ Diagnosis of the irrigation and fertigation system
✅ M2M communications testing
✅ Installation of the GERBIL multi-level probe as part of the monitoring system
✅ Collaboration with the field team, key to aligning the technology with actual usage
GERBIL provides accurate moisture data at different soil depths, which is essential for optimizing irrigation in crops as sensitive as flowers.
Thank you to the technical team at OdinS Colombia, led by Agricultural Engineer Henry Andrés Monroy Caicedo, for integrating our technology into this process.
We continue working to ensure GERBIL is present on every professional farm around the world.
